  1. PICTURE #1 is a diagram demonstrating the heat transfer between peanuts on fire and the water we were attempting to boil. This was our most successfull attempt because we had 15 peanuts burning and only one side cut out of the can. this combination provided the longest fire, the greatest amount of heat, and the least amount of heat lost outthe sides of the can. Since all of the heat was focused on the water, it was steaming when the peanut oils were finally all used up, which is the closest we got to boiling water with peanuts to make spagetti. We believe if it would not have been windy outside, the heat would have been moe focused and the water would have boiled.

PICTURE #2 are graphs of the distance, velocity and accelaration of an egg that we soaked in vinegar to disintegrate its shell. We then dropped this egg from 1 foot off the ground and drew graphs about its velocity, distance and acceleration during its 2.2 sec fall

PICTURE #3 is our second attempt to boil water with a peanut so that we could cook a meal using physics. This design did not cause the water to boil due to the heat escaping out the doors of the oven and was not concentrated on the water. The one peanut also did not burn long enough for the water to boil. we modified this model by making only one door for the oven and adding moe peanuts, as seem in picture #1

PICTURE #4 is out very first attempt at boiling water with peanuts. We had a large bucket and a smaller soup can hanging in the bucket. Under the soup can we placed 4 peanuts and began to light them on fire. This idea did not work because we could not get the peanuts to light on fire and stay lit all at the same time. Once we did get them lit, the heat was escaping around the side sides of the soup can becaus ethe bucket was so big and the heat was not trapped close to the water, because of this the water gained very little heat. We revised our design using smaller (soda) cans to keep the heat contained.

VIDEO: The video has picture of all our peanut designs and also the egg bouncing and drop just to give a visual picture of the project that we did. Also it looks really cool with the music.
